Nm Unemployment

The most comprehensive report on New Mexico unemployment is compiled by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, which is a division of the federal Department of Labor, a part of the government of the United States of America. When putting together this report, the Bureau of Labor Statistics focuses on NM unemployment across the state, as well as looking at NM unemployment figures for the four major metropolitan areas in the state. These four metropolitan areas included in a NM unemployment report and Albuquerque, Farmington, Las Cruces, and Santa Fe.

The Civilian Labor Force in the state of New Mexico has shown some fluctuation over the six month period between March 2010 and August 2010. Over this six month period the work force peaked at 967.6 thousand people in April, before steadily declining to 954.7 thousand people in August.

Over the same period, the NM unemployment rate started at 8.8 percent, or 85.4 thousand individuals. The NM unemployment rate then dropped to 8.2 percent in June and July, affecting 78.4 thousand and 78.3 thousand people, respectively, before rising slightly to 8.3 percent NM unemployment, impacting 78.8 thousand people.
